Note: Vista sometimes, by default, sees some 'Video Player' as the playback device and the line input as a microphone, make sure you have selected the correct Playback and Recording Device. I ran microsofts troubleshooter and it managed to enable my monitors audio but my Realtek High Definition Audio is now missing which is what I use to plug my headphones in and microphone.
